Welcome Faculty! Welcome to the Gingrich Library. The Library is a partner in the college's mission of teaching, research and service, and provides assistance and leadership in the access and use of information. This website will provide you with the basic information about the Library and list the major services we provide to enhance your teaching and research endeavors. The Library also publishes a newsletter called the Library Link to keep you informed during the semester.
Library Liaisons Each department has a librarian assigned as a library liaison to assist the teaching faculty in provided resources for the curriculum and to help in using all of the library services. Your liaison should be consulted if you are unsure who to contact or need assistance in any matter. Having a liaison does not stop you from contacting other library personnel directly if you know whom to call. The current library liaison assignments are:
*Administrative Coordinators support program level needs. Faculty needing course/departmental level support should confer with their departmental liaisons first.
** These assignments are temporary until the new Instructional & Outreach Librarian has arrived.
Help Us Help You
Collection Development
The librarians and faculty have a joint responsibility in building the collection to support the curriculum. You have the opportunity to shape the collection by working with your library liaison and submitting orders for materials throughout the year. In order to obtain, catalog, and process your materials, you are asked to submit orders at least 2 months before you anticipate needing your books or media materials and at least 6 months before needing your serials. Orders for the current fiscal year are accepted from June 1 until early March, with orders accepted after that date being processed after June 1. Each month, the items ordered from the previous month are displayed in Dewey Decimal order online for you to see what has been added in your subject area. Additional information on collection development is available online at http://albrightcollege/library/orders Orders should be submitted to your liaison or to Sandy Stump (610-921-7205).
Faculty Advisory Committee
The faculty governance structure provides access for input to the library though its Information Development Committee. This standing committee is designed to advise the library on major policies regarding the collection, facilities and services. Any faculty interested in participating in this committee should indicate this interest on the committee interest survey given at the end of the academic year.
