Facul-Tea Series
Once again, the Library's fascinating Facul-Tea series kicks off! Join Dr. Thomas Meyers in his discussion of "Student Perceptions of Professors," where he investigates how students currently regard their professors and compares that data to information gathered in the 1960s.
This is an informal discussion and students are encouraged to ask questions. Refreshments and Experience Credits are available.

The Library Society Presents: Jerri D. Sueck
A Library Society Meet the Author Presentations
Jerri Sueck, was orphaned at age 8 and spent years neglected and abused in foster homes. Rising above the experience, Sueck is the author of the book Letters My Mother Never Read. She is an Alvernia alumna and currently a teacher in the Philadelphia School District. Sueck shares her difficult journey through American foster care of the 1960s and 70s. Her story still resonates with teens and adults today and offers hope for anyone "forgotten or labeled 'second best.'" Copies of her book are available for sale in the library and at the event. ($5 abridged version, $23 full version) A question and answer session and a book signing will follow her talk.

Holocaust Resource Center presents: T
he 4th Annual Yashek Lecture with Doris Berger "Twisted Cross: Were the Nazis Christian?"
Doris L. Bergen is a very respected scholar of the Holocaust and the Chancellor Rose and Ray Wolfe Professor of Holocaust Studies at the University of Toronto. Her publications include Twisted Cross: The German Christian Movement in the Third Reich (1996) and War and Genocide: a Concise History of the Holocaust (2003).

bullet Exhibit: April 1-30; Opening event: Dr. Gerald Ronning, Tuesday, April 8 at 7:30 PM in the Library main floor (Time is still tentative)
Holocaust Resource Center presents: Dr. Seuss Wants You! The Wartime Political Cartoons of Theodore Geisel.
This traveling exhibit features political cartoons created by Theodore Geisel (Dr. Seuss) between 1941 and 1943 in response to anti-war sentiment in the United States. The posters will be in the library from April 1- April 30. Dr. Gerald Ronning off the Albright History Department will host an Experience event on April 8 at 7:30 PM in the Library on the main floor. For those who would like an early glimpse of the issue, check out the book Dr. Seuss Goes to War: The World War II Editorial Cartoons of Theodore Seuss Geisel by Richard H. Minear.

National Library Week: Open House (food @ 2-4 pm) & Edible Books Contest (judging @ 3 pm)
First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week (April 13-19, 2008) is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. It is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation’s libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support. The Albright Library sponsors an Open House on Wednesday to celebrate libraries, librarians and library users! As a part of the Open House, the Library Sponsors and Edible Book Contest (see our link to the contest and past entries)
