Finding What We Don't Own - Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
While completing an assignment or researching a topic, you may find references to relevant items that the Gingrich Library does not own. Verify ownership by checking the online catalog (for books and media) and the alphabetical listing of both the library's print and electronic journal holdings. This list contains links to the databases where specific titles are available.
 |
Remote users: If you are working from off campus, log in as a remote user to get the full benefit of the hypertext links in the catalog and the databases in the journal list. |
Making a request
Once you verify that you cannot obtain the item, you may request your information from interlibrary loan (ILL). You may submit interlibrary loan requests via:
- ILLiad forms on the library website
- Links to Interlibrary Loan (ILL) built into some subscription databases, e.g., PsycINFO, Sociological Abstracts
Important Points to consider before requesting an ILL:
- ILLs normally take about 4 days to 2 weeks to obtain, despite our best efforts to get them as fast as possible.
- Overdue fines for interlibrary loan books and audiovisual materials match those for Albright owned materials.
- Lost materials are charged at the price set by the loaning library.
Please allow adequate time for this service. The bottom line is -- start your research early and discuss any problems or special needs with the reference staff at 610-921-7211 or libraryref@alb.edu.
