please check the
Circulation Patron Policies page.

Orange Divider Graphic Reserve Materials
Reserve materials are for LIBRARY USE ONLY. They may be designated for loans of 2 hours, overnight (2 hours before closing to 8:15 the next morning), 3 days or 1 week.

Faculty may place materials on Reserve for current courses. Materials are requested at the Reserve Desk by professor and course. These may be used only by Albright students, faculty and staff. Items must be borrowed with a barcoded library card.

Some materials are placed on Permanent Reserve for reasons of heavy use or security. These include the general Permanent Reserves, the Business Reserves and the Accounting Reserves. These materials are requested at the Reserve Desk by call number and title. All users of the library may have access to these materials - if a patron does not have a valid Library Card, items may still be borrowed for use in the library with proper ID.

Orange Divider Graphic Holds and Recalls
The ability to place a "hold" on an item is limited to those borrower groups acknowledged on the above table. Holds may be placed on items in circulation by presenting a current library card at the Circulation Desk and giving the title and author of the material needed. The patron will be notified when the material is returned. Material will be held at the Circulation Desk for 4 weekdays.

The ability to "recall" an item is limited to Albright faculty members needing the material for Reserve. The borrower who currently has the item(s) will be notified. Recalled items must be returned within 3 days.

Orange Divider Graphic Overdue Materials
All patrons are responsible for the prompt return of library materials.

Fines for items in the general collection are generated at the rate of $.10 per day to a maximum of $10.

Overdue Reserve materials are assessed a $.50 per hour fine up to $3 per day, up to $25.

Overdue Equipment is charged $3 per day up to $25.

A courtesy notice is sent 5 days after the date due. Three weeks later an invoice is sent listing the cost of the material plus a $25 processing fee. If the material is not returned within 2 weeks, the bill is sent to the business office for their handling. ACLCP borrowers with outstanding bills are handled through their institution's library.

If items are returned in acceptable condition within 6 months of the due date, the cost of the material and the processing fee are rescinded - the overdue fine must still be paid.

Orange Divider Graphic Lost Materials
Lost materials are charged the cost of the material listed in Books In Print (or another book price source) plus a $25 processing fee. If the material is not listed in BIP, a default fee of $40 will be charged, plus the $25 processing fee, or a grand total of $65 will be charged.
