Special Education Certification (K-12)

Pre-requisites:
In the state of PA, the Special Education certificate must be an additional/dual certification.  It will no longer be valid on its own.  Student must either be currently certified or be working towards dual certification.

SPE 600 EBI: High Incidence Disabilities
SPE 601 EBI: Low Incidence Disabilities
SPE 602 EBI: Students with Behavioral Disabilities
SPE 603 EBI: Pervasive Developmental Disorders
SPE 660 SPED Processes & Procedures: Screening, Assessment, IEP Development and Evaluation
SPE 661 Technology – Instructional, Assistive, Universal Design
SPE 662 Intensive Reading, Writing, & Math Interventions
SPE 664 Collaboration & Consultation
SPE 636 Etiology & the Law
SPE 670 PK-8 Instructional Practices or SPE 671 Secondary Instructional practices
SPE 703 SPED Practicum: Student Teaching
75 hours of classroom observation must also be completed prior to student teaching
