Tree Dedicated in Honor of William R. Bishop Jr.,
Emeritus Professor of History

Beloved professor William R. Bishop Jr. taught history at Albright from 1948 until 1981, when he retired and was named emeritus professor of history. After Professor Bishop passed away on Jan. 1, 2007, at the age of 90, his family and friends began an effort to plant a tree on Albright's campus in his honor.
On April 1, 2007, a Cherokee Brave Dogwood tree was dedicated to Professor Bishop. About 30 relatives and friends attended the dedication. Many of them shared fond memories of Professor Bishop, and reminisced about his time at Albright and in Reading. Rev. Paul Clark '73, Albright chaplain and a former student and friend of Professor Bishop's, led the dedication. The tree is located on the Memorial Chapel lawn along Thirteenth Street.

Ashley Adams '05 Memorial Study Abroad Award
When Ashley Adams graduated from Albright College in 2005, some of her fondest memories were of the time she spent visiting the Dominican Republic as a study abroad student the year before. Sadly, Ashley passed away just a few months after graduation. To honor her memory and help more students receive the kind of study abroad experience that she and other Albright students enjoyed, the Ashley Adams ’05 Memorial Study Abroad Award was created. Every gift, regardless of size, is essential in building this award to assist students as they study abroad.
