Internships
Students at the sophomore level or above have the opportunity to participate in supervised field experiences at different degrees of involvement depending on their interests and experience. These internship sites are in clinical and counseling centers, rehabilitation centers, local hospitals, schools, research laboratories and business/industrial settings (PSY 282, 382, 401A, 401B, 482).
Research
All students design and conduct research in the laboratory and/or field settings as an integral part of several courses. Juniors and seniors are encouraged to develop independent research projects under the supervision of a faculty member. Research currently being conducted by faculty and students are in the areas of developmental psychobiology, psycho-educational processes, perception and imagery, person perception, theory of mind, language development, close relationships, health psychology, gender and race, body image and animal behavior. Students also have the opportunity to submit research for presentation at regional and national professional conferences.
