The course unit system is the method for determining progress. Under this system, each course (unless otherwise indicated) is equal to one course unit credit.  Each course unit credit is equivalent to the following traditional semester hour credits:

  • 000 to 400-level undergraduate courses are equivalent to four semester hour credits
  • 500 to 800-level graduate courses are equivalent to three semester hour credits
  • 900-level Accelerated Undergraduate Degree Program courses are equivalent to three semester hour credits

The fall and spring semesters are 14 weeks in length, with an additional one week final exam period; the Interim semester runs for approximately four weeks. The Accelerated Degree Program uses a continuous term calendar.
