Residency Requirement Frequently Asked Questions

I am a current junior who has signed a lease for my apartment for two years. Will I need to move back onto campus for the fall semester?

Current juniors (rising seniors) and Current Seniors who are currently living off-campus and who have signed a lease by December 6, 2016, will be approved for off-campus housing for the 2017-2018 academic year. This notification (a copy of the lease or a letter from the landlord) must be provided to the Office of Residential Life by December 6, 2016.

I am a junior and planned to live off-campus for my senior year, but will not have a lease agreement signed by December 6th. Can I still live off-campus?

Rising seniors who currently live off-campus and will not have a lease signed by December 6, 2016, will have until February 1, 2017, to submit a signed lease or letter from a landlord stating intent to lease. Rising seniors who currently reside on-campus but who planned on moving off-campus must also submit a signed lease or provide a letter from the landlord by appeal to the Office of Residential Life by February 1, 2017.

I do not meet any of the exemption requirements to be able to live off-campus but would still like to. What is the process to do this?

Rising juniors who do not meet the off-campus housing exemptions will need to go through the housing selection process in the Spring 2017 semester. Appeals to live off-campus must be submitted to the Office of Residential Life by April 1, 2017. Please note that even if you submit an appeal, you must go through the on-campus housing selection process.

Students currently approved for off-campus housing will not be asked to move back on-campus. However, you may be asked to register your intent to live off-campus during the housing selection process.

I turn 22 in October. Can I still live off-campus?
