Litwinetz,
Buist, and Thorpe Inducted into Albright Athletics Hall of
Fame -
1975-1977 Football Teams Honored for Outstanding Record
Paul
Litwinetz, Nicole Buist, and Jonathan Thorpe were inducted
into the Albright College Athletics Hall of Fame at a ceremony
held Saturday evening.
Also
honored on Saturday were the members and coaches of the Albright
football teams of 1975, '76, and '77.
The
dinner was a part of the homecoming weekend and included a
celebration of 95 years of football at Albright.
The induction
of Litwinetz, Buist, and Thorpe brings the number of members
in the Albright Hall of Fame to 55.

Litwinetz, class of 1972, was a four-year letter winner on
the Albright football team.
He was the Albright Most Valuable Offensive Lineman and the
MAC first-team center in 1970 and '71.
As a senior in '71 Litwinetz was also named the ECAC first-team
center, and Associated Press Little All-American Honorable
Mention.
He was recognized five times as a member of the ECAC Honor
Roll, and was the recipient of the Dick Riffle Trophy in 1971
as the Homecoming Most Valuable Player.

Buist, class of 1991, is the second-leading scorer in Albright
women's basketball history.
Her 37 points vs. Delaware Valley remain a school record
for points in a game.
Buist was named the women's basketball Most Valuable Player
in 1990 and '91. In 1991 she was named to the MAC first-team
All Conference team.
Buist led the team in scoring three seasons, assists three
seasons, rebounds two seasons, blocked shots two seasons,
and steals two seasons.
Buist, who also letterd in cross-country and softball, was
named the Albright College Outstanding Senior Female Athlete
in 1991.

Thorpe, class of 1992, received All-American recognition
for three of his four seasons on the Albright football team.
As a sophomore in 1989 he was named a Pizza Hut honorable
mention All-American defensive back.
As a junior and senior, Thorpe switched sides of the ball
to running back, and was named to the Champion Division III
All-American third team as a junior and second team as a senior.
He led the MAC in rushing and scoring for his senior season.
Thorpe was a three-time first-team all MAC selection, and
was twice named MAC and ECAC player of the week.

The 1975-77 football teams had a combined record of 23 wins
and 6 losses. The '75 and '76 teams won MAC Northern Division
Championships, and the '77 team was co-champion. The teams
outscored their opponents during that span by a score of 688-300.
