Brian Weiser named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District II Second-Team

Reading, PA – Albright College senior defensive end Brian Weiser (Douglassvile, PA/Reading Central Catholic) has been named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District II Football Second-Team.

Weiser started the first three games of the season for the Lions before suffering an injury and missing one game.  He returned to the starting lineup last Saturday at Widener.  For the season he has totaled 20 tackles, including two tackles for loss and half a sack.  He has helped Albright's defense rise to the upper half of the MAC in both points allowed and total defense.  The Lions are 7-2 this season after a 2-8 campaign last fall. 

The District II region includes Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and West Virginia. A student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher to be eligible for the team. The team is selected by the members of CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America).
