Women’s Cross-Country Competes at NCAA Mideast Regional MeetSaturday, November 15, 2008 WAYNESBURG, PA - The Women’s Cross-Country team closed out their 2008 campaign competing in the largest meet of the season, the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Meet, which was held by Waynesburg University Saturday morning.
Out of field of 44 teams, the Red and White managed a team finish of 36th place, with Johns Hopkins University taking the top spot with final team time of 23:04. Earning the top individual finish was Ursinus’s Christa Johnson who closed out the 6K race with a time of 22:01. Leading the way for the Lady Lions was senior runner Melony Alcorn (Schwenksville, PA/Perkiomen Valley) who finished in 176th place with a time a 26:37. Gabrielle Stine (Archbald, PA/Valley View) trailed her teammate by ten seconds and closed out her final race of the season with a time of 26:47 (184th place). Sophomore Michelle Reinhart (Bernville, PA/Tulpehocken) was next to cross the finish line for Albright with a final time of 27:14. Mallory Ketterer (Bernville, PA/Tulpehocken) and Tomesha Campbell (East Orange, NJ/East Orange Campus) finished Saturday’s meet with the exact same time, (28:12) to earn 225th and 226th place respectively. Kristin Sawey (West Babylon, NY/West Babylon Senior) who competed in her final meet as a member of the Albright College Women’s Cross-Country team ended the afternoon with a final time of 30:27. Freshman Nicole Kelly (Brick, NJ/Brick Township Memorial) put forth a great effort in the final stretch of the meet finishing the day with a time of 31:25. Meet Results |
