and directing the magazine group's overall content and vision.
I supervise a staff of 14 full-time writers, editors and art
directors, and am actively involved in both JCK's strategic
business planning overall and in the jewelry industry at large.
One of the greatest advantages my career at JCK has given
me is an opportunity to see the world (or at least those parts
of it where they make jewelry!) and make friends all over
the globe. As a result of my work, I've been serenaded by
Andrea Boccelli in the 15th century-era town square of Vicenza,
Italy; stayed in the section of nearby Verona that inspired
Shakespeare; dined on the terrace of the Ciragan Palace in
Istanbul; had front-row seats at the Diamonds-International
Awards where Gianni Versace became one of the first fashion
designers to cross over into fine jewelry design; met with
the head of Christie's International in Geneva; been allowed
to witness the workings of various diamond bourses and of
De Beers' offices in London; seen and held (and tried on!)
some of the world's greatest gemstones and jewelry, and much
more."
