To recognize and foster diversity, the College established the Joseph E.Coleman Scholar Awards in 1986. These awards are named for Albright’s first graduate of color, Joseph E. Coleman, class of 1946, who went on to become a distinguished scientist, lawyer, author and politician.

The Coleman Scholar Awards range in value from $12,000-$20,000 for four years of study at Albright College ($3,000-$5,000 per year).
