Mama Mia

You guys totally missed it. Today, the weather changed five times. In the morning, before breakfast, we had rain coming in sideways mixed with ice. It was soooo windy. And the rain would be face slapping bitter. Then, the clouds parted and it was nice and sunny, albeit a bit chilly. Not too long afterwards, it started to rain. Then it stopped. It has been windy on and off. When I was walking back to my room, it started to, get this, HAIL! It was a massive hail storm. My hands were hurting as I unzipped my backpack to get at my umbrella. I normally hate using an umbrella here because it shields me even more so from the rare light of the sun. These hails were just hitting at me. It was AWESOME! I can't remember the last time I've been in a hail storm. Then it switched over to pouring rain. The sun has basically set and its barely five. Oh, it just hailed again. Here's a video. Click continue reading for moreeee.

Last night, the people from across the courtyard decided to have some kind of disco party. It was turrrrible. Plus, when I looked out my window, I saw chunky women in underwear and it wasn't the greatest sight in the world. Don't get me wrong, I find every woman beautiful. Its just that, I prefer them to be clothed. Leave stuff to the imagination, sheesh!

The imagination is so cool. Well, mine was before I started watching tv. That stuff destroys minds, I'll tell ya. Sure, people have had great ideas to put on tv. But do you really ever get good ideas from watching tv? Mister Rogers is an exception. Actually, I didn't learn to tie my shoes until halfway through first grade, so maybe he wasn't so great. But he made it look so easy! Oh Mister Rogers, I miss you.

Death is a part of life. I was pretty sad when Mister Rogers died. But, you know, everybody's gonna go. A lot of people hate talking about death, thinking its not right to talk about it. I say, man up and face it. I dont fear it. Heck no. I mean, think about it. The person who is dead doesn't care that they are dead. Everybody else is going around crying and stuff. The person who just died doesnt have the problems of this world to worry about anymore. They are finally at peace.

And does peace sound so bad?

What Up-date

Here is some verbiage for all you verbetarians. Today, I'm going to try and talk to you about what there is here and what isn't here. So bear with me. Oh, and click continue reading, too.

First and foremost, there are no Chips! Ahoy cookies. Although I knew this, I never realized that I would be craving Chips! Ahoy cookies like a pregnant woman.

Also, I am pregnant.

Just kidding. The lack of Chips! Ahoy (I hope you are saying Chips! really loud because there is an exclamation point) is made up with the addition of Maryland cookies. They're not QUITE as good, but they hold me down.

There's something else here called "Flapjack." I always thought that flapjacks were pancakes or something like that. So I'm eating this thing and I have no idea how to react to it. I think its like a granola bar? I look at the ingredients and one of the major ingredients was something called "Hydrogenated rape oils." Of course, I read this AFTER I've eaten the thing and now I fear that some rapist will be attracted to the rape oil scent I am giving off and will waft him/herself over and hydrogenately rape me.

They have Febreze here, thank everything that is holy. But it's like liquid gold here. Completely and outrageously expensive. Why wash clothes when you have Febreze? I know, at Albright, laundry is free now. That is so whack, them doing that when I leave. Here, laundry is 2 pounds for washing and a pound for drying, so thats three pounds which is about 6 bucks! You can imagine how amazingly bad I smell.

Baby wipes are in huge supply and stock here because so many people have white shoes and so many more play futbol. And the greatest way to keep your shoes shiny and nice looking is to baby wipe them! If its good enough to wipe babies away, then it must be good enough for my shoes. And it is!

The library here closes at 10 PM. I think that is kind of rubbish. School libraries should be open until midnight. But the library here is really cool. Its got about five or six floors, depending on how you count floors. Because here, the ground floor is NOT the first floor. There is a ground floor, then a first floor, then second and so on and so forth. I think that is ridiculous becaues if a guy fell from a sixth floor window (in UK terms), he would have then fallen six floors...to the ground...wait, that makes sense. But I swear I had this worked out in my head. WHATEVER, as I was saying, school library here = closes at 10 but it closes at 8 on Fridays! That's insane! Then again, the pub life here is really lively.

I'd have done a video blog today but my throat isn't feeling up to it. Got a bit of the "Fresher's flu" as it's dubbed. Well, I hope you guys are having a good time wherever you are. Leave questions if you have any!

I am going to go and try to make this whole 'floors' thing make sense to me.

Hydrogenatingly,

Salaam

Magical 31st Entry of ALL TIME!

Right. SO this is my 31st entry. And as a result, I will show you what plagues my thoughts from day to night, from dawn til dusk. Futbol. It is constantly on my mind. These Europeans have an unbelievable regard for pace. Basically anybody and everybody knows how to do at least some complex trick. Flicking the ball up high in the air with but a tap of the foot. Juggling the ball and then stalling it on their foot. Catching it from behind. Juggling 300 times...ok, well, that was a Canadian.

But my goal here is to play so much ridiculous amounts of futbol that when I come back to Albright, I tryout for the school team. I want to play like these guys play. I want to be on a school team. I've never been on a school team before. I tried out for the University team a week or two ago. Of course I didn't make it. The people there were incredible! But I've been playing for at least two hours a week. And practicing the ever amazing tricks. Here is my fave video to watch and the best trick is at the end, I almost mastered it:

The following entry is, aptly, littered with more videos. Enjoy :-)

This next video, are these guys even human? How is all this even possible? How does your head not explode around such talent?

Futbol dueling! Zlatan vs Ronaldo, these guys are ridiculous.

Aight, this next guy, Billy, he's got some skills. He knows it. And then he goes up against the people with the talent to use the skills and finish the plays. I loved when he was with C. Ronaldo and Ronaldo basically taught him a step! Man, I wish I could be taught by Ronaldo.

AND THE FINALE

So i hope youd enjoyed all that.

Now stop sitting in your butt and go out and play.
