That's What They Told Me
Apparently, school started.
But here
I am.
Still at home.
Encompassed by all that is around me.
I feel
worlds away
from Albright.
ah who am i kidding? Yeah, i'd love to be with my alby peoples, but you always have to leave something behind to pursue something else. Plus, if its all good, I'll be back for my senior year.
Wait. That means I'm a junior.
I'm a junior? In College? nuh uh. man, college went fast.
well, whenever I get sad, I just watch this and it cheers me right up:

Everywhere I Want to Be
I downloaded this new program called Skype. It lets people talk for free over the internet. So I download it, start it up, and find that it is a lot like those chat programs, but a bit smoother. Just as the other chat programs have 'status' buttons, Skype is no different. However, there is one button that says 'Skype Me' which apparently lets people know all over the world that you feel like talking to them. No sooner had I put that up that a girl from china sent me a message. A girl from China. what in the name of goldberg. I hate being rude so, agh what the heck, here's the convo:
[12:51:18 AM] sally song(宋怡) says: hi
[12:51:38 AM] Salaam says: hello
[12:51:58 AM] sally song(宋怡) says: nice to meet u
[12:52:10 AM] Salaam says: likewise
[12:52:35 AM] sally song(宋怡) says: thanks
[12:52:42 AM] Salaam says: whats up?
[12:52:44 AM] sally song(宋怡) says: i am chinese
[12:52:57 AM] Salaam says: haha ok
[12:53:11 AM] sally song(宋怡) says: 23
[12:53:39 AM] Salaam says: how's china?
[12:53:45 AM] sally song(宋怡) says: a translator work in a usa invested company
[12:53:54 AM] sally song(宋怡) says: good
[12:54:06 AM] Salaam says: china lets you have skype?
[12:54:22 AM] sally song(宋怡) says: yes!
[12:54:37 AM] sally song(宋怡) says: why u ask that?
[12:54:51 AM] sally song(宋怡) says: you think china don't have skype?
[12:55:00 AM] Salaam says: i heard how you had to get a specialized Google so you couldnt search about freedom and democracy
[12:55:30 AM] sally song(宋怡) says: tha is not true
[12:55:53 AM] Salaam says: so if you searched 'democracy' on google, stuff would actually come up?
[12:57:02 AM] sally song(宋怡) says: i don't understand what you mean.
[12:57:22 AM] Salaam says: you've heard of Google, right?
[12:58:10 AM] sally song(宋怡) says: yes, i heard, a searching website
[12:58:32 AM] Salaam says: so if you searched 'freedom' on it, would stuff come up?
[12:59:17 AM] sally song(宋怡) says: you mean in china there is ni right and freedom and democracy
[12:59:36 AM] Salaam says: well...it is a communist country
[12:59:46 AM] Salaam says: so everything is restricted
[1:00:39 AM] Salaam says: enough politics, its too late in the states to be discussing such things
[1:00:43 AM] Salaam says: what do you do in China?
[1:03:57 AM] sally song(宋怡) says: work now
[1:04:26 AM] Salaam says: china...man, thats such a cool country
[1:05:56 AM] sally song(宋怡) says: maybe iu don't have a good understanding in china
[1:06:27 AM] Salaam says: it has such a rich history though
[1:06:37 AM] Salaam says: have you experienced otherwise?
[1:07:22 AM] sally song(宋怡) says: although we are a communist country, we have freedom
at that point, i became bored and started hitting on her.
Flirting is such a weakness. Many people use it and feel it to be a strength but you're only giving in to your desires. On that note, my visa came in! yayyyy! i also booked my ticket! yayyy! i also go to school after my fellow albrightians have started! yayyy! they finish before me :-( boooo. k, i'm tired, and youtube is undergoing maintenance, so i am unable to post the video of the moment at this time. check back soon for a more AmAZING update!

It Starts...
Well...this is it. I have sent in my Visa application. Fingers crossed on that, hope it gets here by the end of the month. There were some really stupid questions on that application. Such as, "Do you speak English?" I wrote, "Well, I'm filling this application out, aren't I?" But my mother made me change that answer. I thought I used proper English.
And I bought my plane ticket as well. ONE WAY BABY! Man, I get Uni of Aberdeen stuff in my mail weekly now. Its so exciting, but sooo much paperwork, and so much expenses. I hate how the American Dollar is worth nothing compared to the British Pound. I'm going to be soooooo poor over there. It's ok though, because it'll be an adventure. Sometimes, I think its better to be poor than rich. Poor people usually are so much happier and have something to strive for. And when they get that thing, it probably feels REALLY good. That's how its gonna be in Scotland. Then again, I've never been rich but for a moment. That first big paycheck I got. Man, I thought I could buy anything. Then I think I bought meaningless snacks and stuff. ugh. continue on for the video of the moment
there it is folks. there it is.
