Oh The Joy
Oh man, i received a comment from Kelly the other day! it took me a bit of time to figure out who it was. Together for two years? Was some girl stalking me? Thinking we were in a relationship for that long? Then i realized, blogging-wise. haha im a sap.
Easter break went well. And now, everybody is all refreshed in time for finals. Finals are coming around soon and i have three scheduled in one day but i can get them spaced out cuz albright is cool like that. One of my profs, Doc Pankratz, took a bazillion pics of me and a couple other fellow students for our class and he showed a couple of them today in class. man it was embarassing but he took excellent pictures. many people use them pics for facebook cuz it makes them look inquisitive and intriguing. when people have nothing to do or feel like procrastinating, they facebook stalk. that's when you go to random people (or people you know)'s facebooks and look at all their pics, read their walls, look at their groups, and/or read their interests, etc. yes, this actually is exciting. but its weird cuz you find stuff out about people and you know about that person without actually knowing them. itd be so weird to go up to a total stranger and say 'oh you like the taste of raspberries wet with the dew of a summer morning? SO DO I!" but then again, thats what facebook is for. and thats what we will cherish it for. i love you, facebook. you complete me
by letting me know about everybody else.

Studying A Broad or Two
so on thursday i skipped class and went to philadelphia. now now, i had legit reasons for skipping. I was heading down to the Union League to be interviewed for a scholarship allowing me to attend a Scotland University (plus giving me a good bit of cha-ching). There were seven others there and five of us would find out later that evening if we were the fortunate souls to go abroad. Well, my father came in the morning to pick me up and we drove down. When we found the Union League, we were in awe. This place was classy. This place was fancy. This place had mouthwash in the bathrooms. This place had a sofa in the men's room. I had to double check to make sure it wasn't the women's room....even though I had used a urinal. The napkins to dry our hands were literally 11 ply pieces of hand sewn fabric napkin something with the crest of the place emblazoned on it. I dried my hands on it and was about to throw it away but I realized that the napkin was not wet! So, I, well, I kept it. It's decent.
We were supposed to meet in the Library, so I went in. This was a nice sized room with an intense amount of knowledge just littering every shelf everywhere. And the book dead center in the room was, you guessed it, America: The Book by Jon Stewart. I laughed and sighed with relief. But their computers did not have the internet. Weirdos. So I hit up the place we were going to eat lunch and mannnnnnnnnn it was insane. They had little blocks of butter but they weren't blocks. They were stamped with the crest of the place! And in a cool shape too! That was insane. People walked in at staggering times and we all mingled for a while. It was good mingling. Some awkward (sp?) moments but that's bound to happen.
We were all seated for lunch and had a terrific time of eating and socializing. And then, while they gave us dessert, the judges (about 20 some of them) decided to ask us challenging questions. So one by one each candidate stood up and was asked one question by the head guy. The first question dealt with the economy or something. I thought, "Sweet, this is right up my alley! Wait a second...I don't have alleys." One by one, everybody was asked questions. And then, like a bad movie, i was asked last. It had something to do with social security and illegal immigrants not paying taxes. I said something like, "I don't care much for social security because, well, I'm not getting it." Everybody had a good laugh at that.
Then us students left and were conjured into the library. One by one, we were taken back into the dining area to be questioned. There was a HUGE chair I sat in while they questioned me. I have no idea where they pulled it from. So I chilled in the throne while all the judges asked me questions. I sprinkled basically every answer with a light touch of Salaamic Humor. Kinda like Balsamic, but not so much. Then I left after they gave me an ovation. no, not ovaltine. I hate ovaltine. I have also never had it, but the commercials make me super mad. I went and got my pops from the library. haha he was reading the America: The Book book! my dad rules. so we went back to school and i told him, "You know, at this point, I've done what I've had to do. Everything else is up to the Big Guy. If He wants me to go, I'll go. And if not, well, I'll be happy to have been given a chance."
So I did the radio show, went to class, did my thing. I was supposed to get a call between 6 and 7 regarding if i got in. Six o clock went by and turned into seven o clock. I hadn't received a call. nothing. Although I had said that I wouldn't care if i didn't get in, i had kinda hoped to get it. But oh well. It's all good. And then, all of a sudden, i felt my phone ring. I grabbed it and looked at who was callin me. it was my friend. I hung up and went back to drawing. I placed the phone beside my drawing...you know, just in case. I saw the screen light up before it vibrated. Oh man, i thought, please please please. It was my dad. I hung up. Then i talked with some girls a couple seats over. I came back to my desk and saw that I had one missed call. Hmm i thought. So i left the room and checked. it was a number i didn't have! i IMMEDIATELY called back, not caring that the person was leaving a message. They picked up about 7 rings in and we conversed. Simply put,
I'm going to Scotland for a year :-)
