heyyyyy,

man, has this weekend...this semester, rather FLOWN BY!!

i just got back from spending the weekend with my boyfriend at the beach. he goes to Eastern University and this summer, he's doing an internship with CIY (Christ in Youth) all around the country. Once he leaves tomorrow, he won't be back until August 11th. (AHHH!!) I'm bummed that we won't be together this summer, but I know that it's an incredible opportunity for each of us to grow and serve the Lord. Also, I think I'd be bummed out if I didn't have my own internship to be excited about!! :) Not to mention that I leave for Buluxy, Mississippi in 7 days!! :)

Buuut, of course, before all that fun stuff, I've got to get through this finals week. Ehh, it won't be too bad at all..I've got a PSYCHOLOGY 300 STATISTICS one on Monday, a Holocaust one on Tuesday, and on Thursday I have one for my Science Education class and one for my Close Relationships 300-Level Psychology class. Other than that, this week will be a lot of fun just spending time with friends!! :)

Man, I really can't believe that another year has passed..this really goes by all too fast. I'm excited to see some new faces in August. Talk to you all soon! :)

Heyy strangers!

Ahh, I know, it's me who is the stranger, really! I feel like every time I blog I talk about "how busy I am" but no SERIOUSLY, right NOW..IT'S INSANE!! This time of year is always crazy-I've got 2 20 page papers due within the next two weeks, a 100 page unit for Science, lesson plans, tests, projects, presentations, and then, of course, not to mention all the FUN stuff that is going on around campus. Sometimes I really wonder why all the really fun activitie are planned around the busiest time of year! Ahh oh well, needless to say, this is my FAVORITE time of year at campus-everyone is doing everything, and I love it, love it, love it. So, here's a little recap on some of the basic things that are going on around here.

hmm..finals are coming up and the semester is coming to a close in about 2 weeks!! Graduation is May 20th and well..actually, I'm REFUSING to talk about graduation because I'm convinced that some of those really good friends that I have are NOT leaving!!

We've got tons of activities going on EVERY WEEKEND. For example, this weekend there's an PSI CHI INDUCTION (Psychology Honors Society), OPEN HOUSE, a FUNDRAISER TO BENEFIT NEW ORLEANS, a trip to the Phillies and a concert in Philly (for like 5 bucks)...next weekend is an ALBRIGHT CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP RETREAT, A CARWASH BENEFIT FOR NEW ORLEANS, KAPPA DELTA PI INDUCTIONS (Education Honor's Society), HONORS AND AWARDS CEREMONY, OOZEBALL (Volleyball in the mud)..and the following..looots more stuff. Greek week is also coming up as well as some "end of the year" activities for the entire school. It's crazy fun-crazy fun.

Yup, and with that said, I leave for New Orleans, well..Buluxy, Mississippi in less than a month with about 50 Albright College students. It's going to be a blast. AAANNND from there, I'm back for 8 days and then I'm off to Missourri to do an internship for this summer-doing service work kids!! AHHH IM SO EXCITED!! :)

Anyway, hope you all are doing well with making your decisions. Best of luck! You're always welcome to comment or email back if you have any questions! Hope to see you on campus in August!

Lots of Love,
Melissa :)

HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!

So sorry about the delay..as always, things are crazy here at Albright. Let me see if I can update you with some of the highlights! :)

Hmm..alright, well, last week was a HUGE weekend for Albright! On Sunday night we held our annual Scholarship dinner-great people, great talents, and great FOOD! It was a whole lot of fun! I got the privledge of meeting a TON of the incoming (hopefully) freshmen for next year. Boy, are some of these people TALENTED! I love hearing all their involvements and achievements! It's always encouraging to hear just what sort of things incoming freshmen can bring in for the college. [If you're a prospective student reading this out there, DEFINITELY CONSIDER THIS SCHOOL FOR SCHOLARSHIPS!! They care SOO MUCH about you here! FREE MONEY is a GREAT thing! PLUS, you get treated to this FANTASTIC CATERED dinners-and let me tell you..between that special chicken, bliss potatos, and carrot cake...oh, they have got some GOOD FOOD!

So, Sunday night was a whooole lot of fun..but it didn't stop at dinner! You see, a BUNCH of my friends, especially those living in Mohn Hall (the honors dorm) had the opportunity to host an "overnight"-a prospective student who was interested in seeing what "life at Albright College is REALLY like!" It was AWESOME!! Get this..out of ALL people, i actually had my ROOM-MATE'S sister! She is the SWEETEST thing! I love her!!! Actually, we all ended up having a "game night" Sunday..about 20 of us went down to the lounge floors and we ended up playing Cranium's Pop 5 and Apples to Apples..SO MUCH FUN! We made smores and then played "have you ever.." (a keeper for college)..it was an AMAZING night!! :)

hmmm...wow, that's a mouthful in itself, but since then, a ton of things have happened. It was midterm week her at Albright, so there were a lot of crazy people studying left and right (unfortunately for me, my midterms continue to next week)..and aside from the normal test and project crunch, everyone is HIGHLY anxious for spring break (9 days in counting, I believe).

Classes are fantastic..I'm so in love with my psychology close relationships class-the topics are SOOO RELEVANT and sooo interesting. I'm almost done my education art class (we'll be switching to music after spring break). Education Scienece is going...I'll be teaching the "class" a lesson the day we return from spring break. hmm..ohh, in Psychology 300 (my research and statistics class), I'll be beginning testing actual Albright College students on an experiment I designed myself! :) That should be exciting! Oh yes, and my holocaust class is well...holocaust class. Yesterday I was pretty excited..I had the class at night (6:30pm-9:00pm)..we were watching a movie..I ended up sleeping for about 20 minutes of it..I watched all the "major points"..then he let us out of class an hour early!! It was brilliant!!

Hmm..in terms of events...Albright is having a HUGE BONFIRE TONIGHT..which should be a lot of fun. I hope we get to roast marshmallows. YUMM! lol. ACF has been ROLLING-we're really excited about our 24-7 prayer room that we just painted...it's orange..and soon (in April) we're doing a campus-wide "cleaning staff appreciation day" where the students get to work hand-in-hand with the cleaning staff here to show JUST HOW MUCH we actually appreicate their work! It's gonna be awesome, we're so excited! :)

OH! ANDDDD..on Tuesday, I just registered for the Albright Woods Appartments!! I'm totally excited-three of my best girlfriends and I will be living in C4..it's perfect! Good condition..nice balcony..right near the campus path, right across from the laundry rooms. Oh, I CAN'T wait! :)

Ahh, alright y'all...I've written a TON!! Thanks for reading!! :) You can always send me comments or emails! Hope to see you around campus soon! It's dinner timeee..... :)

sorry its been quite a while since my last blog. sometimes, I'm so terrible with this crazy stuff. so anyway, let me think...what's been going on at albright. well, everyone is in full swing of their semester schedules now. OH, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MOST of my classes. lol. im taking psy 300, which is a class where the students are designing and carrying out research projects. they're really neat! okay and then..welll, im taking two education courses...one is an art class and another is about science..they're both pretty neat. i have a lot of friends in them, which is always fun. aaand, oh yes, im taking this holocaust lit and film class..whiiiiich, its interesting. its the first time ive ever had a night class (the class happens on tuesday mornings and thursday nights), so its a bit different. let's just say that with a schedule like mine, i'm starting a trend of taking red bulls to class each thursday night. oh ps, sorry about no caps or proper punctuation or anything in this blog, im just totally full of energy and obviously dont have the patience to correct for my improper instant message grammer (or lack of, rather). :) soo, yes, OH! but my FAVORITE class is this psychology class called "close relationships." its all about romantic relationships-oh, its SOOO cool! so yes..classes are fun..

aand let's seee, what else. there are TONS of tours. lots of students are coming to visit. soo...you know, that means that if YOU haven't come and visited yet...you DEFINITELY NEED TO!! lots of organizations are starting their events too. spring recruitment for greek life is happening, we're right at the tail end of winter sports, and getting ready for spring sports..its awesome! THERE IS LIFE AT ALBRIGHT!! :) there are sooo many ways to stay busy here. ahhh yesyesyes. :-D

alright folks, ive gotta get going. i've got a pile high mountain of homework that needs attention.

haha, homework.

OH RIGHT..AND A FEW DAYS AGO, IT SNOWED HERE! haha, that was FUN. everyone went outside and played in the snow..there were people sledding and running all over campus. I WALKED ON THE POND!!! i made history :) lol. snow is funnn. college is fun. come to albright. :)

2 weeks of interim down, one to go, this interim has FLEW. so, im right in the midst of my field experience, and it really has been going GREAT. its terrible, im so still on the fence about deciding over professions, but, the two teachers and the class that im with, i could ask for anything better. they are absolutely incredible. i love them all so much! days are long..heh, ive learned that its VERY NOT FUN to go to bed at 2am and then wake up at 6am, spend 7.5 hours in school, and STILL try to survive an ultra busy night. and days that you can get to bed by 11pm are GLORIOUS b.c you're really gonna need that energy to keep up with those kids.

all around this week has been great. i totally love interim. you take a class, have one thing to focus on and not too much more-you're able to catch up with friends, get a head start on settling in for 2nd semester...its awesome. actually, a good group of my acf friends met this past wednesday, that was AMAZING! we're looking to get together a prayer room on campus,so we've really been praying about that, itsreally encouraging.things are changing on this campus. OHHH the new schumo center for fitness and welness are well on their way up (progress is REALLY being made right now, and its totally encouarging!!! I CANT WAIT UNTIL THAT OPENS! yea, so overall, life is awesome. very awesome. i kinda wish i had some mike and ikes to munch on right now. lol. sorry for the randomness, thats just me! :)

good luck to all of you who are still spending time deciding and shifting through school information, go where your heart leads you...the journey is yours, and truly, its a journey. :)

Hey everyone, wow, I certainly know that it has been a LONG while since I've updated this thing. So many things have happened since my last post, let me see if i can briefly fill you in. So...finals passed, grades came back (:-D), the holidays are now gone, break was WAAAY too short, and now I'm back here for interim. For those of you who might not know, interim is a short "January term" that Albright offers to students for those who are willing to ambitiously complete a class in three weeks. Students attend class every day for about 3-4 hours and thus, are in an "intensive" study, but are given the opportunity to get a class "out of the way". I'm actually not here for a CLASS necessarily, but I'm here to complete the "field experience" for elemenetary educaction. Let me give you a little more info.

The experience, so far, has been great. Eye-opening. I'm actually placed at a school in Exter Township, which is about fifteen minutes from Albright. I'm stationed at Jacksonwald Elementary School, which is a suburban school district. I'm in a multi-age 1st and 2nd grade classroom with some AMAZING teachers and the CUTEST kids!! I'm so surprised at how much these kids know at such a young age! It's amazing! I'm observing with one of my friends from bible study, which makes everything TOTALLY AWESOME, and together, we're going to have a fantastic time. I'm just praying that the Lord really shows me the light in this situation. Does he really want me in education? Or is there another field where his will is leading me instead? Just because I'm good with kids, does that really mean that I necessarily have to be a TEACHER? Ahh, there is so much to think about as time goes on.

Well, I'm actually battling the flu right now, so in order to stay healthy for this whole field experience thing, I'm gonna get back to resting up. [It's been insane, in the past two days, I've gone to bed right at 6pm and slept...a lot!!] You're always welcomed to leave a comment, best wishes to everyone! :)

Yup, it'll be 5 more days that a group of 7 of my friends and i will be traveling back down to new orleans to continue some volunteer work down in the gulf! :) we're so excited!! and even though we're sacrificing our thanksgiving dinners with families, we know that the people of new orleans greatly appreciate our helping hands.

other than that, things have been great. class work is starting to really pick up-projects, tests, papers, and everything!. i've learned to relax despite the hectic college schedule and constant nagging of assignment dates-the Lord's walking me through day by day. final's are in less than a month! its INSANE!!! the semester is almost over, i cant believe it. its truly gone by way too fast.

and yes, albright is albright...basketball season starts friday-im hoping our basketball record will be a lot better than our football. :) my friends are amazing..we always know how to have fun..and yea, thats about it. :)

ps. if you're reading this and you're NOT in college-you should def. come on a tour and check albright out. it can totally MAKE your college decision. cant wait to see you!! :-D

Hey everyoneeeee...hope everyone is enjoying their week!! I cant believe its tuesday already...i mean, that means tomorrow is wednesday, and then two more days until the weekend..ahh this weekend is gonna ROCK! and this week has already been so much of a blessing.

so basically, all i have to say, is that God is amazing. :) you see, this weekend, i did a little random visit to my grandmother in canada b/c well..she's sick in the hospital, and i was pretty sure that it was going to be my last occurance ever seeing her. anyway, bottom line..the Lord does amazing things through unfortunate situations, and well-the trip was a blessing. the entire family got some time to spend together, to catch up, to grow together..and my grandmom finally received peace about her situation-it was such a blessing. :)

the weekend was crazy, but it was actually a total hit here at albright too. friday night a group of my friends hosted a "new orleans benefit concert"-some of the local bands in the area-we raised over 800 dollars-THANKS SOOO MUCH TO THE AMAZING PEOPLE OF ALBRIGHT COLLEGE! WE LOVE YOU ALL! and now, because we have so much amazing support from our community, we can FLY to new orleans over thanksgiving! we're so excited! our plans are finally all complete-everything is working out-its just GLORIOUS!! :) :)

in other terms though, (PHEW, i feel like im running out of breath here..lol) this week is crazy, as usual. im splitting some time between school work, and reading with my Lord, with spending time with my beautiful boyfriend, to sitting down with some true friends here at Albright. :) towards the end of the week, we've got some killer visits coming with TONS of people, and to top it off, an open house on saturday. so, should be fun!! :)

ohh plus, ive got two parties to go to this weekend! yayyyy. :)

alright kids, gotta get back to work so i can go out later.
Glorifyin my King :-D

Love you all,

okay, so last night-or early this morning...i started to creat a blog about how great last night was, but, i know i left early and i didnt feel i did it justice, so, im continuing a bit today.

alright so, yes new orleans. its so incredible how that group-how that experience has impacted my life. even five months after it happened, my friends and i talk about it like it was yesterday. we were all so moved by the service we did down there-and we all want to go back so greatly. in fact, a small group of us are going back over thanksgiving-we're driving down. its going to be incredible. we've been fundraising some money to take us down there-this week, there is a benefit concert to raise some more money-it should be a big hit. :)

but yes, new orleans is incredible, and i am loving albright more and more each day.

last week was homecoming-that was certainly a great time. a lot of my friends attended the dances and the game...i spent a lot of time working and working and well, working. lol-there is a lot of catering jobs to do during that time-so, let's just say i made good amount of money last weekend. :-D ...which is always excellent, because i definitely need money. aaaannnd..yes, throughout this week, things have actually been going pretty slow, which is nice, of course. i havent been bombarded with too much homework, and ive really been able to spend some quality time with friends and devoting time to organizations and such. its been great.

:) speaking of work though-this is a day that i need to devote myself to catching up. :) soo, im going to get going-ive got a lot ahead of me. folks, its always a pleasure, im sure ill be updating in a week or so-until then...
