lovin' it.
2 weeks of interim down, one to go, this interim has FLEW. so, im right in the midst of my field experience, and it really has been going GREAT. its terrible, im so still on the fence about deciding over professions, but, the two teachers and the class that im with, i could ask for anything better. they are absolutely incredible. i love them all so much! days are long..heh, ive learned that its VERY NOT FUN to go to bed at 2am and then wake up at 6am, spend 7.5 hours in school, and STILL try to survive an ultra busy night. and days that you can get to bed by 11pm are GLORIOUS b.c you're really gonna need that energy to keep up with those kids.
all around this week has been great. i totally love interim. you take a class, have one thing to focus on and not too much more-you're able to catch up with friends, get a head start on settling in for 2nd semester...its awesome. actually, a good group of my acf friends met this past wednesday, that was AMAZING! we're looking to get together a prayer room on campus,so we've really been praying about that, itsreally encouraging.things are changing on this campus. OHHH the new schumo center for fitness and welness are well on their way up (progress is REALLY being made right now, and its totally encouarging!!! I CANT WAIT UNTIL THAT OPENS! yea, so overall, life is awesome. very awesome. i kinda wish i had some mike and ikes to munch on right now. lol. sorry for the randomness, thats just me! :)
good luck to all of you who are still spending time deciding and shifting through school information, go where your heart leads you...the journey is yours, and truly, its a journey. :)
In His love,
Melissa :)

a new year..
Hey everyone, wow, I certainly know that it has been a LONG while since I've updated this thing. So many things have happened since my last post, let me see if i can briefly fill you in. So...finals passed, grades came back (:-D), the holidays are now gone, break was WAAAY too short, and now I'm back here for interim. For those of you who might not know, interim is a short "January term" that Albright offers to students for those who are willing to ambitiously complete a class in three weeks. Students attend class every day for about 3-4 hours and thus, are in an "intensive" study, but are given the opportunity to get a class "out of the way". I'm actually not here for a CLASS necessarily, but I'm here to complete the "field experience" for elemenetary educaction. Let me give you a little more info.
The experience, so far, has been great. Eye-opening. I'm actually placed at a school in Exter Township, which is about fifteen minutes from Albright. I'm stationed at Jacksonwald Elementary School, which is a suburban school district. I'm in a multi-age 1st and 2nd grade classroom with some AMAZING teachers and the CUTEST kids!! I'm so surprised at how much these kids know at such a young age! It's amazing! I'm observing with one of my friends from bible study, which makes everything TOTALLY AWESOME, and together, we're going to have a fantastic time. I'm just praying that the Lord really shows me the light in this situation. Does he really want me in education? Or is there another field where his will is leading me instead? Just because I'm good with kids, does that really mean that I necessarily have to be a TEACHER? Ahh, there is so much to think about as time goes on.
Well, I'm actually battling the flu right now, so in order to stay healthy for this whole field experience thing, I'm gonna get back to resting up. [It's been insane, in the past two days, I've gone to bed right at 6pm and slept...a lot!!] You're always welcomed to leave a comment, best wishes to everyone! :)
In His love,
Melissa :)
