my reedeemer lives...
heyyy everyone!! well, lots have happened in this past week-as expected when you're a busy college student, right?! let's see..ive been on my second week of my pledging-PHI MU is definitally the BEST soroirity here-for any of you who are interested in getting involved in Greek life when at college-really, phi mu is your way to go, for a soroirity that is. there is ABSOLUTELY NO HAZING and the girls are amazing! this week we are supposed to find out who our "big sisters" are-so it should be a fun week..
what else is going on...
ohhh well, classes are just great. i really love them this semester. ohh, i landed a job off campus. my friend donna works at this afterschool program called "Hope Hangout" in the city and she asked me if I wanted a job there too. It's really a great program-its for kids in the city, just to provide them with a place to hang out safely for a few hours after school-they get fed dinner, they get to do their homework, play with friends-its nice. definitally a better environment for them than some of those places out in the city. You see, I'm definitally not from the city, so this job is such a new experience for me. I really love it, and I'm really hoping to reach out to some of these kids..rather, to have Him reach out to them through me. :)
Oh, speaking of my Lord and Savior, Wednesday night's bible study (ACF) was just amazing! Honestly, for those of you interested in Albright College, you MUST check out the Albright Christian Fellowship group-it is just amazing. For all of those who feel like you are missing something in your heart-honestly, it's Jesus, and you need to talk to someone and just allow yourself to experience life in a whole new life. ACF is really doing awesome though-the E-Board has got some great events planned for the next few months-including going to Shady Maple (this HUUUGE buffet place) and a retreat to the beach or the mountains. Also, a friend of mine started this new "Praise and Worship" group on Wednesday nights-and well, it really is a blessing. I'm very excited to really get that club going.
Oh, I could write so much more about the new Shumo Center-the plans are going fantastic! But, I've gotta run-its 8:54 and I've gotta meet my friend downstairs for church! Leave a message, a question, anything-I'll be glad to answer!
In His spirit,
Melissa :)

HELLO college!
wow, so, time is FLYING. i feel like ive been here for WAYY more than just three weeks..or, actually..two weeks maybe? hah, i dont know anymore, time is nonexistant. sooo...there have been SO many things that have been happening lately, and..of course, i havent had ANY time to BLOG about them. between classes and formal recruitment and pleding and an overnight staying with us..my days have been packed..let me see if i can recap just a little bit..
SOO second semester college and BAM here comes RUSH WEEK. okay, well, actually its FORMAL RECRUITMENT here, but either way, it was 4 straight days of parties-well, five, counting bid day-and it was one of the most amazing experiences at college so far! as a recruit, I got to all the girls in each sorority-visiting three parties every day from wednesday to saturday..actually on saturday night we got to dress up for a "preference night" and we attended two extra long parties of our choice-our "prefs" lol. the week was SOO much fun, ill never regret going to those parties, because through them i got the opportunity to meet so many more great girls. friday and saturday nights were two of the most amazing nights-just so much fun, and well..so emotional at the same time. after a tear jerking and exhausting saturday, i ended up choosing one sorority "Phi Mu" as my preference, and on Sunday morning, i received a bid from that group. sunday was a blast-the girls, the sisters, were INSANE and they just showed so much love-it was definitally a fun day. sooo...now im a pledge and me and 16 other girls get to spend the next 8 weeks pledging for PHI MU. its so great though-for any of you interested, albright college's greek life is SO AWESOME-all the girls in every soriority are great and there is ABSOLUTELY no hazing here-and they stick to that. well..at least my group!!
but yeaaa...school is a blast right now. there is so much happening. ive gotta work on my applications for POPS and an AMBASSADOR. ahh im so excited! i really hope i get both positions. ALLLLSOOO, we had an amazing overnight stay with us on thursday-SHOUT OUT TO AMANDA IN HARRISBURG-WHOOT WHOOT! lol, she was so much fun, and i just hope that she enjoyed us as much as we enjoyed her. hopefully, we'll be seeing her next year... but really, if any of you are seniors in high school-take this advice seriously-WHEREVER you want to go-DO AN OVERNIGHT! it will make or break your choice. :)
heh, alright guys, sorry about the short and random blog-but im so tired..i tried, i really did. :) JUST COME VISIT ALBRIGHT ALREADY!! :)
talk to you all soon,
Melissa :)
