HEY!!! NEW UPDATE!!

Heyyy everyone, YIKES..it has definitally been WAYYY TOOO LONG since my last post. I need to play some serious catch up. There is so much to talk about-homecoming weekend especially, and maybe a little bit of this past weekend, since I went to my highschool homecoming and visited my best friend at WCU..ohh and we got our scheduling cards too..already time to start thinking about next Semester! :)

ohhh and you must read my sentimental note in the last paragraph of my blog!! :)

So..homecoming weekend...big deal, BIG RAINOUT. IT POURED!! lol, it was definitally the WETTEST celebration i have ever attended. The entire weekend was filled with events for alumni and for students-on friday night i catered-7 hours of work, that was fun!! I got to socialize with people and make them root beer floats and yeaaa..it was great! After work, my Mohner friend Lee and I raced home, got changed, and headed out to party. We went to a club-1402-which was SOOOO MUCH FUN!! i love to dance, so it was AMAZING-even though it was extremely sweaty in there!! :) Saturday was fun-some of the mohners and I hopped around to different events-like my roomie's volleyball game and our other mohner's track meet! :) GO LIONS!! later on jess and i headed under the turtle dome, where are the events that were supposed to be in the parade were set up-we got to see the floats, got some food, and even got paw prints on our faces! The rain was so heavy we decided to watch the game on TV in our dorm rooms-and unfortunately, WE LOST! we WERE doing so well in our season, now it seems like we really gotta work to get back up in the division! Anyway, that night was fun-we had a formal homecoming dance-of course, my boyfriend came in and we got all dressed up and took pictures of the whole mohner family!! :) The next morning I got to go to church with my family, they came down to visit-and we topped off the weekend with a lunch date at olive garden and a win from the eagles. yup, homecoming week was pretty sweet. basically, i <3 homecoming.

okay, so..then, during the week, we got our schedules for next semester, and boy did i spend so much time figuring out my schedule. i love it though-5 classes all done by 1pm each day. hopefully i get what i want!! :)

thennn this weekend was awesome. i came home for my high school homecoming game, GO PV, and we won!! right on. ill tell you guys, when you go to college and you come back and see all your high school friends, nothing changes, its amazing-it was just like old times. so we all went out and had dinner and it was so fun to just catch up. the next day i went back to karate to train (it was AMAZING) and that night i headed up to West Chester University with my best friend. I love that school! It is so gorgeous!! It's worth considering if you're looking into a good PA state school! Anyway, it was so nice to catch up with her..really, cherish those times with your friends now, cuz it will never be the same again. I came back to school at about 9pm last night and you know, it was really nice to be home sweet home.

I know this is a long blog-i guess im trying to make up for lost time, i just really want to tell you all something about albright. it was funny b/c when i went to wcu, i saw their huge campus and dorm rooms and everything and i second guessed my decision at albright. but then when i came home and saw my friends and the bond we have together-well, it made me realized just how special i am. guys, i dont know what you're looking for in a school, but there is something different about the students at albright that really make you feel at home. this is more than a school-more than a place to study during the week and party on the weekends-this becomes a whole new family for you. remember that-it'll matter when fall 2006 roles around. :)

alright guys, i spent way too much of my monday morning on this-lol, until next time..
god bless you all,
melissa :)

AN AWESOOME WEEK! :)

Okay, so the overwhelmingness of the week return back from fall break hit-sorry I wasn't able to blog anything for a few days. There has just been so much happening-it's hard to even sneak in a few hours of sleep! And now, another great weekend is on its way-HOMECOMING! It's gonna be a BLAST! Tailgating is all set up, events are already on the move, and EVERYONE is gettin pschyed..INCLUDING ME!!

So, fall break was amazing. It was so nice to just go home and spend some time with my family and friends. I spent a lot of time with my brothers, all three of them, who are 6, 9, and 17. My family caught me up on all the good news around my hometown and..oh MAN DID I EAT A TON OF FOOD! I felt like I had been sheltered all my life. Wjhen I opened up the snack cabinent, I ate every cookie and snack food in sight. Needless to say, I spent the majoridy of the weekend with a stomach ache. lol. I even got a chance to work on Saturday night and pull in an extra $70 bucks, which was nice (I waitress at a restaurant called Ortino's) and as always, seeing everyone from my home church was AMAZING. heh, on Monday I ate out with a group of girlfriends, we call ourselves GLLAMM-and even though we didn't have the best service, it was a great time! Oh, and I can't forget to mention the time spent with my boyfriend, it was fun, just like we were in high school again-ohh HIGH SCHOOL!! Last night some friends and I from my high school who are also at Albright watched our graduation video and it was so sad, i BALLED my eyes out!! I really miss high school-enjoy it while you can guys, and seriously, don't talk advantage of anything, it'll be gone before you know it.

I was kinda reluctant to return to school at first-I came back at like 10 at night on Tuesday, lol, but as SOON as I got here, my MOHNERS greeted me with open arms and i immediately fell in love with school all over again. This week the work load has beenn pretty hard, having a few exams and papers, but the amazing thing was, it was only 3 days!! I loved it! Oh, last night we had build a bear come to our school-that was fun, they were so cheap, so i got a jump start on some early xmas presents. haha, and not to mention last night that jess, lee, and i had an "english bonding night" as we worked on our papers together for honors english. I have a feeling that a few more of those are in store. ;) oh, and finally, MY ROOMMATE AND I ARE LIKE, THE SAME PERSON!! lol, its so funny, i really am so lucky to have gotten paired with her. we are so alike and i just love it!! dorm life is the best guys, you all have to do it.

yea, so with homecoming this weekend and all-i guarantee you i wont be writing for a few days-today ive got a catering job, then the school mixer at a local club, then tomorrow is the parade, tailgating, football game, and semi-formal dance, then sunday is church with my family and a CORN MAZE, heh, so i cant wait! hope you all have a great weekend.. :)

Okay, so oddly enough..I am having an AMAZING MONDAY! I mean, come on, is this human for a college student? But seriously, I am SOOO EXCITED FOR FALL BREAK! and guess what? its midterm week and I DONT EVEN CARE!! lol

So, yea, today went over pretty well. My english professor revised his syllabis, so now we have less assignments, :) always a good thing!!! psychology was alright, and french wasnt bad either...i even fit in time for all my reading and studying AND working out..although i still have to do pilates with my friend!! :) i went to an expeience event tonight: "Thoughtful Faith"-yea, it really wasn't bad. ohhh AND today was one of my mohner (thats our dorm name..we call ourselves the mohners)..well, it was her birthday, so we decorated her room, got her cake, and CELEBRATED!! :) I still have LOTS of homework and studying to do, but..well, when you give your problems to the Lord, nothing gets in your way of celebrating life in his kingdom!! :) Alllright, I've gotta go-I can't wait until fall break, i know, i said that already..but seriously, going back home is gonna be GREAT!! :) ttyl laatterrrr...

bleeding green...

yikes, what a game...for all you PA people out there-you know what I'm referring to-the EAGLES game..not exactly their best work...and kinda an upsetting way to end a weekend..but, other than that, i have to admit that my weekend went well!! :)

It was a weekend FULL of rain and LOTS of time to relax! Just the way it should be...friday night was nice, some friends and i just watched a movie. saturay morning it was STILL GUSHING rain buckets, but i had to go to work, catering, at 730am. That was fun-catering, its a cool on-campus job at Albright; we spent a few hours setting up for this meal in which a whole 20 of an original 100 people showed up, then we got to eat their food!!! after that i watched the albright football game on tv (unfortunately, we lost) and then went out to dinner with my roommate's family. going out to dinner is always fun, Albright doesn't exactly have the best meals on weekends, and anytime you can avoid that food, is game. :) Other than the football game, today rocked-church was amazing, then ACF (Christian fellowship) had a picnic and my boyfriend came into town!! :) :) Now im just hanging out-looking at the work i SHOULD be doing, but not really caring about now!! :) alright guys, ill blog to ya laterrrrr..

melissa :)

In Retrospect..

Heyyy everyone..I know, I know..it's been awhile, again, since I've written in this thing...and there is just so much I could talk about..how do you really capture the essense of college life on a simple website?

Well, let me update you on my weekend..IT WAS AMAZING! lol. Really though, my friends and I had a great time. Friday evening my boyfriend came up, which is always fun, and after hanging around for a few hours him and I and a few friends in Mohn Hall decided to go midnight bowling at a local bowling alley. Luckily, one of my good friends here grew up here so he knew exactly where to go. It was SOOO MUCH FUN! Seriously, I don't care how old you get, you can never outgrow bowling. It lasted until 2:30 in the morning, and well, after finally getting to bed around 4:00am, it was no surprise I slept past my alarm that Saturday. Saturday was cool..low key..just hung around and did school work for the better part of the day-you've got to when you've got 5 papers and a few tests and midterms coming up and all-that night I hung out with my friends, we decided to hit up the Rugby party-which, if you come here, you'll get to know is a really big deal. You've gotta pay to get in and all, but apparently "it's worth it"-since the parties are all intense and everything. We had a pretty good time-I'll keep you all wondering about the details-just a hint, don't wear flip flops. Sunday was cool-went to church with some friends from ACF (Albright Christian Fellowship), it's awesome by the way, and so is this church I've started going to-Glad Tithings Assembly of God, (check it out if you're interested) and my Sunday morning was awesome. Came back to Albright to do a little mural paiting for our Freshman Forum class, and then hit off the night with an AMAZING WIN by the Ealges. Yeaaa, gotta love that team. Everyone in the dorm room thought I was dying because I was screaming so loud. haa..ohh but the win didn't stop the fact that I had an english paper due the next day, so I had to finish that up before going to bed.

Besides my weekend, the school week has been pretty normal-lots of work, work, and work. Got some tests and papers back with good grades-that's always a plus, and yesterday I went to this cool meeting about this 4+1 program for Education majors to get their master's degree in 5 years. It's really awesome-if you're considering Education at Albright, you should really consider taking advantage of this grad program too. :)

The weather's been great by the way, and I'm excited b/c it's supposed to get COLD by the end of the week!! Well, I'm BEAT, its 12:30, and I'm definitally planning on getting up early to catch up on some work for History of Christianity-until next time, I'll let you all go..

Livin in His spirit,
Melissa :)

By the way, if you are considering Albright, have you signed up for a tour yet? I've seen people walking all around campus and it reminded me-you should really start GOING to campuses now, it makes all the difference later! A.K.A. come visit us!! :)
