Adios summer 2006 bienvenido fall 2006.
Did you know that Tarifa , Spain is the southern most part of Europe?
Ok this summer was by far the best summer I've EVER had! It was absolutely amazing. Spain alone was the experience of a lifetime. I definitely want to live there one day. It's been awhile since I've blogged and a lots happened so I'm going to give a brief overview. The last bit of Spain was my favorite time in Spain. Natalie and I traveled. We went to Granada and Malaga and stayed in Hostels. I LOVE hostels. Everyone is between 18 and 28 so it is sooo easy to meet people. Then Nat and I flew out of Sevilla to Madrid and from Madrid flew to JFK to get home. We were going to sleep in the airport, but we got kicked out at 1am so we had to sleep on a part bench outside the airport. We definitely ended our trip with a bang. It was insane. But, it still was the most amazing trip ever, we definitely learned you can't sleep in the Sevilla airport..who would have thought?
Ok then back to CT. I have to be honest I came back to the United States kicking and screaming. I really did not want to leave Europe...at all. BUT, the funds were extremely low so I didn't really have a choice. Back to CT I went. I was home home for about a month and a half before coming back here. That month and a half was the best month and a half summer I've ever had in CT. I worked at the YMCA (like i do every summer) as a lifeguard. I had the opportunity to work outside on a beach that the Y affiliates with so that was AWESOME! Then I also worked for Vector. Vector is a company that sells Cutco products..."the worlds finest kitchen cutlery". Yes I was a saleswoman. Yes sales people are normally annoying and I hate them. Yes the job was SOOO MUCH FUN!!! Yea I loved it! Everyone who works there are college students or fresh out of high school. So the working environment is super fun. AND you don't go solely off commission so there isn't too much pressure to have to sell things and there is NO cold calling or telomarketing. So it's really a cool job AND very flexible. It's also the best stuff out there as far as kitchen cutlery....I'm not just saying that either. My mom converted her entire kitchen over to it...check out the website...www.cutco.com. haha So if you want anything just drop me a line.
ANYWAY besides working a lot I went backpacking on the Appalacian Trail!! Actual backpacking! There were 6 of us and we went for a 2 day hike...it was SOO MUCH FUN!!! We climbed Everett in MA, Race in CT, Bear in Ct, and Lions Head in Ct. It was serious too...I really didn't think it was going to be that difficult, wow was I wrong. So I want to do the entire trail one day from Georgia to Maine. We met a lot of through hikers along our way and I really admire what they're doing. It really was just you and Gods country.
Then my very last night in CT, last Sunday night I went to a Toby Keith Concert with some friends from my knife work. That's another thing...knife people are the best people haha. The Toby Keith Concert was absolutely amazing!!! One of the best nights of the summer by far. We got there early did a little tail gating action then went into the concert. We had lawn seats and right before Toby was going to come on the heavens opened up and it started to DOWN POUR!!! So we ran down into the stadium, we were able to get under cover because 2 of the guys we were with work security so they got us in.
Now I'm back here at the Bright. We just had Orientation and I'm a POP -Peer Orientation Person- AKA my FAVORITE thing at Albright College. My groupies (the group of freshman Dan Doc (my POP partner) and I orientated) were absolutely amazing I LOVED THEM! Shout out to Group 6!!! Our theme this year was Survivor...so I was all over the camo.
Now we're pretty much back in full swing. First day of classes were Monday and I'm already exhausted!
Alright that's it for now. There was a lot to write. This was pretty much the 411 version so If anyone wants to know about anything in particular...just ask!!
It is SOO wonderful to be back to Reading. (I'm living in an apartment this year in the Albright Woods so I'm VERY happy)
Until next time...GOD BLESS!!!
hasta luego,
Kelly
