First Day...

Well, Today was my first day of class! It was quit fun! All my professors seem very nice and willing to help me this school year. One thing I do love about Albright is that all professors here want to see you succeed and always willing to help. Professors all give their office hours, email address, home phone number as well as cell phone numbers, to get in contact with them if you need help!!! (HOW COOL IS THAT?) I met a lot of new people in the dining hall as well in my new classes. The freshmen seem really shy…I remember I was just like that…ha-ha

☺ *** It was so funny... everyone was wearing their new outfits and sneaks.... lol*** ☺

August 31, 06 at 7pm is our activity fair. I am in two organizations this year! The activity fair is something that is great for new freshmen or returning students who want to get involved with activities on the campus. I encourage students to get involved in many activities on campus. It’s a great way to meet new people, learn different things, or anything just get involved....

Well, I'm on duty tonight and I'm getting ready to do a round! Talk to everyone later...

A Different Way of Speaking...

Well, the freshmen moved in on Thursday ... and may I say there seems to be a lot of them!!! Thursday was my first day I was on duty. On duty I walked around talking to the new freshmen. Everyone seems very nice, and I know this is going to be a great school year!!!

There are main things I want to learn here at Albright, but they do not offer this coarse here I want. I want to learn how to speak Korean!!! The boys on my suite are all from Korea or another country; I find the language so beautiful! My suitemates all told me they would help me out, as long as I will teach them English!!! So basically, it’s an exchange!!! They already started teaching some words and phrases!!! I know how to say hello/goodbye, my name is Greg, how are you, what is your major, I’m hungry, I'm full, Great job, and thank you...! I'm really excited b/c this is something I really want to learn! It will be great if Albright had Korean as a F. Language... But we do have some awesome F. Language Albright offers...like Spanish, French, Latin, Greek, and German. All we need know is Korean...lol

My other staff members in North Hall are absolutely amazing...I have learn so much from training and in CPR/First Aid...

***Did you know that...When you have a bloody nose, you should tilt your head to the front not the back... I don't know why, but I learned it in training...lol***

On Saturday the housing dept. is putting on a short play for the freshmen about housing and different things they may come across living in the dorms. My group is talking about noise violation and roommate conflicts! Next time blog I'm going to talk about roommate conflicts and noise violations...until next time

Summer Time is Over

Can’t believe I’m back to school already. My summer has gone by so fast! Over the summer I worked two jobs…at a warehouse and at Macy’s! I was saving to buy a motorcycle however my plans have changed since the beginning of August. Well, I’m back at Albright now! I moved in on Wednesday the 16th of August! Why I moved in so early? Well, last semester I applied for a Resident Educator position in housing for this semester and I was accepted. Basically, I’m a RA/PE in North Hall. A Resident Assistant (RA) is a student that monitors the halls in the dorms, and Peer Educators are students that sit at a desk and sign guest into the building. Both RA/PE’s create programs within in the dorm hall to help students become more familiar with their residents/peers. Also, we enforce the rules and each one of us is certified CPR and First Aid trained. (which is a plus!!!!) Why am I both an RA/PE in North hall? Because in North Hall is Albright’s suites. We don’t sign people into the building so all Peer Educators have to do rounds like a RA would do. So basically, in North Hall it’s the same!!! There is one big difference between a PE and RA…With a PE position you are getting paid and a RA is free room.

I’m so excited about this upcoming semester! I just recently purchased all my books from the bookstore. My bill was $587.29!!!! WOW…I sent the bill home to my mom ha-ha (love ya mom)!!! Some students like to buy their books offline…that’s a great idea and you can save a lot of money as well!!! The incoming freshmen should be coming in tomorrow (Thursday)!!!! It should be fun!!! I have to go talk to ya soon…
