Junior Quick Hits
Here is some quick words of wisdom to the juniors and their families:
- Try to visit colleges and universities in the next couple of weeks before everyone leaves for the summer. I know it is easier to visit schools over the summer but you will not really experience a campus unless the student body is there.
- Start the scholarship searches now! Talk to your guidance office, visit fastweb.com, talk to your parent's employer's Human Resource Offices, talk to your summer employers. Many of them will have scholarship opportunities.
- If you don't know where to get started just drive around to different campuses one day and look around. No need to get an official tour, just window shop.
- Don't fall in love with one school in May (unless it is Albright!). There is too much to see and too many decisions to be made. Fall in love with all of them. Makes things easier down the road.
- Don't get caught up with allowing your major drive your search. Certainly visit schools that have your major, but statistics tell us that you will change your mind more than twice during your college years.
- Do: too many don'ts on this list. Here is a do: talk as a family, set goals, communicate desires, come to agreements (compromises). Do enjoy the process!
- One more do: VISIT ALBRIGHT!
