Sue Gernert is a successful Albright graduate who is now planning to get her Masters degree but she actually came to Albright in order to convince her own daughter to go to college. She fell in love with Albright (and learning) along the way. Read her story below. Meet Sue GernertWhen my daughter graduated from high school, one thought really bothered me: How can I tell my daughter to go to college if I don't go myself? As a paralegal, I had enjoyed my work for more than 20 years, but I always knew I wanted to take it further. I found Albright's Degree Completion Program in crime and justice at just the right time in my life. What I especially loved was that Albright offered me an accelerated program, which meant it would only take me two years to graduate rather than another four or five. But it was more than that. I simply couldn't find any other program that offered that level of support for the non-traditional student. As a full-time employee, Albright made it incredibly easy for me to juggle all of the demands on my life. They accommodated non-traditional students in every way, including getting our books, so I didn't have to worry about anything but my studies. Before I knew it, I found myself getting A's and B's, even in my least favorite course Statistics! I made the mistake of telling my daughter that the highlight of my day was walking into the classroom. Now she calls me a geek. But the really cool thing is that she and I graduated from college the same month.
