- Joe said funding the extra sections was not an issue but finding the people to staff them may be an issue.
- Various suggestions about how to fit the seminar into the curriculum were circulated. No consensus.
- A question about the 3 semester foreign language requirement was raised. No consensus. A decision was made to invite Adam to a future meeting. The committee wants to know if the foreign language department wants a competency based approach or a time-in-course approach.

- Add first year seminar and not take anything away
- Remove a humanities requirement
- go back to replacing 102 with freshmen seminar
The vote of the committee was 6 for option A; one for option B; and 0 for option C
- Committee started review of freshmen seminar description
- question was raised about if there is a diversity requirement in freshmen seminar—no consensus by adjournment
- Meeting adjourned at 5:35 pm
