Candidates for secondary teacher certification
in a content area complete a degree in the appropriate related concentration
and also must fulfill the following professional course requirements:
Education 201, 214, 301, Special Education 215,
Professional Semester (Education 400, 401, 407/408)
- General Psychology is a prerequisite for Education 301.
- English 230 Communication Skills is required for certification
- (English and Foreign Language certification candidates only)
Education 249 N-6 Elementary Language Arts is
required for certification.
Mathematics (2 units)
Secondary teacher candidates must consult Education
Department faculty and concentration departments for information
concerning specific content course requirements for each certification
area.
