Back Forward

Goal Two:
Educating the Whole Person

We will provide a values-based education, following an holistic education model-mind, body, spirit-educating the whole person, developing character, an entrepreneurial spirit, leadership potential, and spiritual growth.

Our objectives are:

Create programs that develop mind, body and spirit.
We will tie co-curricular and curricular programs together in ways that reinforce our core values, develop character, and encourage students mentally, physically, and spiritually to embrace a personal commitment to wellness and lifelong learning.

Increase our commitment to diversity.
Not only will we continue to recruit minority and international students, we will actively seek students with strengths that will add to our richness as a community. We will increase the ethnic and gender diversity among our faculty and staff.

Seek learning opportunities in and out of the classroom
through internships and service learning, independent study, community service, partnerships with other institutions, co-curricular activities, alumni involvement, and faculty/student mentoring.

Expand and improve our athletic and physical fitness facilities
on a continual basis as part of our Campus Master Facilities Plan.

Incorporate the spirit and experience of our alumni
into the holistic learning experience of our students.

Strengthen our active affiliation with the United Methodist Church to support our holistic education effort.
