Who is Crime Alert Berks County? 100% of net proceeds (after direct expenses) shall be donated to Crime Alert Berks County ('CABC'), a volunteer organization of local citizens and business people dedicated to the reduction of crime, to the prompt solution of crimes, and to rewarding persons who provide information that leads to the arrest of criminals.

The Course. A 10,000 meter course (uhmmm, maybe slightly longer) made up of mostly trails with very little exposure to roads. This is an out and back course design with the Albright College campus serving as the beginning and end points of the course. The course resides mostly upon Mt. Penn, above the City of Reading and offers incredible views of the city below and well beyond (at points, you can peer deep into western Berks County). From the Albright College campus, the course heads in an easterly direction, turning north onto Mt. Penn. Once on Mt. Penn, proceed south, paralleling Skyline Drive to the area of the city just above Walnut Street. The course makes a turn to the east and another turn to the north, heading back toward Albright College, still on Mt. Penn, just below Skyline Drive. Portions of the course offer a fairly wide trail that might accommodate, say, a three-wide or four-wide tussle for position, while other portions of the course are narrow, challenging and steep. The run starts next to a campus softball field, near North Hall, just north of the intersection of Rockland Avenue and 13th Street. The finish line is one in the same with the start line, on the north end of the campus, providing for a raucous and warm welcome to the trail run finishers (and eliminating significant road exposure from last year's course). The lowest course elevation is approximately 343' AMSL, the highest point of the course is approximately 1,050' AMSL. (WE ARE CURRENTLY PURSUING A LIVE BAND OR BANDS FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT ON RACE DAY!!!!)

Some Comments from 2006 Participants: "The course is so well marked a blind person could follow it!" "One of the best runs I have ever done." "Great event! This run has to grow in the future!" "Nice people!" "Good food!" "Race was excellent, with good course markings, nice shirts and food afterwards!"

Law enforcement Team Challenge. Teams made up of Berks County area law enforcement agencies will compete for a night out on the town, sponsored by CABC!!!! In addition to a night of libation, including ground transportation service, the winning team will take home the winners' trophy, the SOURCE MORTGAGE CUP!!!! Aggregate times of the top 3 finishers per team will be used to determine the winning team. The 4th and 5th finisher for each team, where applicable, will be used to break any ties. Race results and the decision of the race committee concerning team scoring are final.
